Jeff Nugent is a seasoned leader in the contingent workforce industry with a distinguished track record in mergers and acquisitions. As one of the early founders behind the strategic merger of Contingent Workforce Solutions and People 2.0, Jeff played a pivotal role in transforming the combined companies into a global powerhouse in Employer of Record (EOR), Independent Contractor (IC) compliance, and payrolling solutions. Under his leadership, People 2.0 received substantial private equity backing in 2019, enabling it to execute a global expansion strategy that included acquiring or merging with nine companies worldwide over 24 months. This aggressive expansion bolstered People 2.0’s capabilities, allowing it to manage nearly $2 billion in revenue and provide employer of record / payrolling services across more than 50 countries. Jeff's vision and tireless pursuit of growth culminated in the successful sale of the business to one of the world’s largest private equity firms for approximately $400 million.

With over two decades of experience, Jeff spent close to 15 years Procom where he founded their Flextrack VMS, EOR and MSP service company.  After Procom Jeff founded his company CWS and successfully grew the company prior to exiting People 2.0.  All of this experience has established Jeff as a leader within the contingent workforce and gig economy sectors. He has consistently demonstrated an ability to simplify and solve complex challenges in global Independent Contractor classification, employment, and tax law regulations.

Currently, Jeff serves as a board member of ACSESS, the Canadian Staffing Association and is a founding member of the Contingent Workforce Institute. He is founder and CEO of his latest venture Independently.ai, an innovative platform providing consistent IC compliance vetting and assessments with an insurance backed indemnification to the gig economy and staffing industries. Jeff's extensive experience and dedication to enhancing compliance solutions makes him a vital contributor to discussions on the future of work and the staffing industry globally.
